Half Fare Ridership Policy
Passengers riding for half fare must present to the driver an MTA identification card (ID) or Medicare card (not Medicaid card.) to obtain an MTA ID card photos are taken at the MTA Mondays through Fridays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Paperwork needed to obtain ID for senior citizens (65 years of age or older): Birth Certificate, Picture ID with age, or Medicare card. Paperwork needed to obtain ID for handicapped (18 years of age or older): Written note from physician indicating permanent disability or Medicare card (not Medicaid card.) Cost for MTA ID card is $2.00 for Manchester residents and $10.00 for nonresidents.
Lost and Found
Found something on the bus? Please give it to the driver and they will make sure it gets to Lost & Found. Lost something on the bus call 623-8801. All items found on the bus are held at the MTA for seven days. The MTA is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.
How to Ride the Bus
- Arrive at bus stop few minutes early
- Have fare or pass ready when boarding
- Need a transfer, request one when boarding
- Transfers valid for next available bus only
- Smoking, eating, drinking, or foul language are not permitted on the bus
- Signal the operator approximately one block before you wish to get off
- Please use handrails when exiting
- Minimum age for passengers traveling without adult supervision is 12 years of age
- Strollers, carriages and carts must be folded and not kept in the aisle
- Service animals are welcome, but pets are not allowed unless in a secure carrier/container
Baby Carriages, Strollers & Collapsible Carts
In order to protect your safety and obey MTA Policy regarding carriages, strollers and collapsible carts on the bus, please obey the following rules.
- All children must be removed from any carriage or stroller for the duration of the bus ride.
- Carriages, strollers and carts must be collpsed before boarding the bus.
- Children are to remain seated or held for the duration of the bus ride.
- Carriages, stroller and carts must be placed between seats and remain out of the aisle.

Non-Discrimination
Title VI Notice to Public
The Manchester Transit Authority (NH DOT) hereby gives public notice of its policy to uphold and assure full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, and all related statutes. Title VI and related statutes prohibiting discrimination in Federally assisted programs require that no person in the United States of America shall, on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal assistance.
Any person who believes they have been aggrieved by an unlawful discriminatory practice regarding the MTA's programs has a right to file a formal complaint with the MTA. Any such complaint must be in writing and submitted to the MTA Title VI Coordinator within one hundred eighty (180) days following the date of the alleged occurrence.
