MTA has an EXACT FARE POLICY. But operators cannot make change and are prohibited from handling your fare. Passengers must deposit the EXACT FARE in the farebox. Passengers must pay a fare at every boarding, including if the bus continues on to the destination. There are no free transfers.

StepSaver Program
Special service for handicapped persons who are unable to use our fixed route scheduled buses. Cost is $3.00 one-way. Must be medically qualified for this service. Click here to learn more or to download an application.
How to Ride the Bus
- Arrive at the bus stop five minutes early
- Have your fare or pass ready when boarding
- Smoking, eating, drinking, or foul language are not permitted on the bus
- Signal the operator approximately one block before you want to get off
- Please use handrails when boarding or exiting
- Minimum age for passengers traveling without adult supervision is 12 years of age
- Strollers, carriages and carts must be folded and not kept in the aisle
- Service animals are welcome, but pets are not allowed unless in a secure carrier/container
Note:
The MTA is not responsible for lost or stolen tickets or monthly passes.
Senior Citizens must be 65 years or older. Proper ID must be presented in order to receive half-fare.
Three children under five years of age may ride free with fare paying adult.
