Purchasing Tickets

You can purchase MTA tickets in person or by mail. If you are purchasing by mail, please send check or money order to the address below:

StepSaver Program

Special service for handicapped persons who are unable to use our fixed route scheduled buses. Cost is $3.00 one-way. Must be medically qualified for this service. Click here to learn more or to download an application.

How to Ride the Bus

Arrive at bus stop few minutes early
Have fare or pass ready when boarding
Need a transfer, request one when boarding
Transfers valid for next available bus only
Smoking, eating, drinking, or foul language are not permitted on the bus
Signal the operator approximately one block before you wish to get off
Please use handrails when exiting
Minimum age for passengers traveling without adult supervision is 12 years of age
Strollers, carriages and carts must be folded and not kept in the aisle
Service animals are welcome, but pets are not allowed unless in a secure carrier/container

Note:
The MTA is not responsible for lost or stolen tickets or monthly passes.
Senior Citizens must be 65 years or older. Proper ID must be presented in order to receive half-fare.
Three children under five years of age may ride free with fare paying adult.
