Systems Administrator/Spare Dispatcher

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for coordinating Saturday and as needed weekday transit and/or school operations, scheduling Stepsaver service, interacting with the operations and maintenance staff, and providing customer support services. Additionally, as part of the Special Projects team, the position is responsible for branding and technical tasks associated with both transit and school divisions.

JOB DUTIES

  • Open or close the transit operations office
  • Track daily employee attendance
  • Ensure road service as assigned
  • Cover open schedules as needed
  • Maintain daily communication with operators in the field
  • Respond to customer telephone inquiries in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with maintenance on vehicle availability and communicate driver issues as needed
  • Collect passenger information on Stepsaver service requests
  • Coordinate field operations during emergencies
  • Issue paychecks as needed
  • Provide backup weekday dispatching as needed
  • Drive transit or school routes as needed
  • Assist in branding efforts
  • Manage creative assets an update/revise as needed
  • Assist in technical capacity for online and in house systems
  • Participate in rotating on-call coverage
  • Assign vehicles to routes as appropriate
  • Maintain lost and found records and item tracking
  • Data entry as needed
  • Input accurate payroll records
  • Schedule next working day Stepsaver trips and publish manifest for operators

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Degree, equivalent or greater
  • Knowledge of local streets
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize effectively
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with Wordpress, and web design
  • Possession of or ability to obtain CDL-B, Passenger Endorsement, School Bus Certificate, Air Brake

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Ability to read a standard street map
  • Ability to operate a radio communication device

WORK SCHEDULES 40 hour work week to include: Special Projects: Schedule determined by the dispatcher and supervisor Saturday Dispatcher: 8:30am – 6:00pm As Needed: AM Transit Dispatcher: Monday through Friday 4:30am – 12:30pm PM Transit Dispatcher: Monday through Friday 11:30am – 7:30pm School Dispatcher: Mon-Fri 5:30am - 9:30am, 1:00pm – 5:00pm

Full-Time Mechanic

This position requires the advanced technical knowledge and skills to perform corrective and preventative maintenance on all MTA vehicles, equipment, buildings, properties, and grounds. Particular attention will be given to a systematic and timely approach to performing quality repairs and maintenance. The technical will work closely with the Supervisor to assist in system analysis and policy implementation.

Part-Time CDL School Bus Operators

01 School bus driving is great for stay at home parents, retirees, or anyone looking for extra income! Join a quality team of Part-Time Employees driving school routes and field trips. 20 - 30 hours per week. Applicants with a valid CDL-B or higher and School Bus Certificate will receive $500 after one year of being a licensed operator with MTA. Payable in two installments. $250 at six month interval and $250 at one year interval. Applicants WITHOUT a valid CDL-B or higher and School Bus Certificate will receive $250 after one year of being a licensed operator with MTA.

  • Starting Salary $15.89; after 6-Months: $16.77; after 1-year: $17.65
  • Paid Holidays and Perfect Attendance Bonuses
  • No cleaning, sweeping or fueling
  • Physical & Drug Testing paid and provided by MTA
  • MTA pays $12.00 per hour during training
