Commercial Diesel Mechanic

This position requires the advanced technical knowledge and skills to perform corrective and preventative maintenance on all MTA vehicles, equipment, buildings, properties, and grounds. Particular attention will be given to a systematic and timely approach to performing quality repairs and maintenance. The technician will work closely with the Supervisor to assist in system analysis and policy implementation.

Part-Time CDL School Bus Operators

01 School bus driving is great for stay at home parents, retirees, or anyone looking for extra income! Join a quality team of Part-Time Employees driving school routes and field trips. 20 - 30 hours per week. Applicants with a valid CDL-B or higher and School Bus Certificate will receive $500 after one year of being a licensed operator with MTA. Payable in two installments. $250 at six month interval and $250 at one year interval. Applicants WITHOUT a valid CDL-B or higher and School Bus Certificate will receive $250 after one year of being a licensed operator with MTA.

  • Starting Salary $15.89; after 6-Months: $16.77; after 1-year: $17.65

  • Physical & Drug Testing paid and provided by MTA
  • MTA pays $12.00 per hour during training
Non-CDL School Bus Operators (CDL Trainee)


  • Starting Salary $13.90; After 6-Months $14.67; After 1-year $15.44
  • Transport 14 or Fewer Students
  • Paid Holidays and Perfect Attendance Bonuses
  • No Cleaning Sweeping or Fueling
  • Physical and Drug Testing paid for by the MTA
  • MTA pays $12.00 per hour during training; will train employees to get CDL
  • *Drive non-CDL while training for CDL License*
Regional Service Coordinator

This position is responsible for coordinating regional transit service including CART, Shopper Shuttles and Demand Response service.

Reports to: Assistant Director


  • Coordinate regional transit service
  • Liaison between MTA and town administrators in surrounding towns where service is provided
  • Track and bill CART operations
  • Respond to customer telephone inquiries in a timely manner
  • Collect passenger information on service requests
  • Drive transit or school routes as needed
  • Participate in rotating on-call coverage
  • Data entry as needed
  • Knowledge of local streets (preferred)


  • High School Degree, equivalent or greater
  • Knowledge of local streets
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize effectively
  • Possession of or ability to obtain CDL-B, Passenger Endorsement, School Bus Certificate, Air Brake
